I am not sure of the master reset on this particular model. I do believe that the "Hidden Menu" on the RoadMate series is activated by pressing ++--+- From there it should be possible to access the shell, perform a hard reset, and further things. So give it a try and let us know if it worked. Good Luck.

Are we pressing the magnification or volume?

On the units that have the sliding power switch, slide and hold the switch to off for about 15 seconds. That should reset the unit.

I couldn’t find a way to recalibrate my Magellan Roadmate N509M-4300… but using the Menu/Settings/Keyboard option to select “ABC” layout, rather than “QWERTY” improved performance somewhat to allow access to letters along the side edges of the screen.

In case anyone reads this and has an issue with the Magellan M-Nav not working properly. Power down. Turn it back on. Wait for it to load. Go into the tools menu. Hit saved info. Hit calibrate screen. An X will show in the middle of the screen. Tap the X. An X will move to the upper left, tap it. Upper right. Tap it. Lower right. Tap it. Lower left. Tap it. Then it will give you only a few seconds to tap the screen again to end the process and this saves the calibration to the unit. Hit back button, and exit everything until you get to the home screen. Hit the Nav icon and go to the Navigation screen. This should have fixed the buttons issue.
