1 Why does my GE microwave fan turn on when I open the door?
Microwave was used for 12 minutes to bake a cake. When I took the cake out after the timer went off, the microwave fan kept running with the door open. The turntable didn't continue to turn. All buttons on the panel still work. The unit heats and the turntable turns when I use it.
It stops if I interrupt a timed cycle, and works when cycle is resumed. After cycle finishes and the unit turns itself off, the fan comes back on when I open the door. Now the fan turns on every time I open the microwave door.

The night before I baked a cake, my husband cooked fresh mushrooms in the microwave. The oven turntable well was filled with water from the mushrooms, and I suspects some water got into the base of the oven through a very small hole by the turntable center. After waiting another day, the microwave works normally. I don't know what to say, but at least it's working now.
