I have a 70" 3 yr old vizio tv. Turned it on one day and had big black spots in the corners and a double horizontal picture. Not sure if I should keep it or try repairing it, I just don't know what the problem could be. Someone told me my LED screen may be bad and you can't buy replacements, is that correct?

Often, with bad screens it's not even worth fixing. However, this looks more like an image issue to me, considering the double image. Can you give me the model number so I can look at the boards that TV has? One of them is probably the issue.

Ok, so sounds like this is a very common problem with your model. It was actually recalled by Vizio back in 2013 - you might call and see if they are still doing free repair or replacement. This would be ideal because it would be free and you wouldn't have to worry about accidentally damaging something.

I'm going to call Vizio first thing and ask. If by chance they won't honor the recall do you think I should replace the circuit boards inside seeing it may be just a bad chip?
Did they honor it? If not they might be able to tell you exactly where the issue would be.
