I have the same question. I am in Canada and the machine has a 5year warranty so they are sending a newer replacement free, with shipping included. When I asked them whether I could repair the problem you are mentioning, they said it was an issue with the chip and that it wasn't worth taking it to their repair center. I got the number of the repair centre and spoke to a technician, who said that HB was replacing the machine so they wouldn't repair the older one unless I took it to them and paid for the repair. They play this game of Whack amole with everyone apparently. I suggest you call HB and ask them about whether their 5 year warranty is applicable. They did help me. In Canada the person to correspond with is: Kenosha at support@hbbcanada.zendesk.com. You must open up a claim first and they'll take it from there. Their website has the contact claims document.
