C'mon, it can be a things other than a blown fuse if there are no "screen lights", (is there even a fuse for the backlight?)
The model selected has an inverter for the backlight power and a replaceable CCFL backlight which could also be the problem, also it may be a possible faulty cable (or connections) between the inverter and the backlight, just to name some other possibilities
so does your computer do anything when you press the power button? like fan running ,any lights anywhere on it?
OK. we need details. lets start with, are there any other lights like the power light on?
