Hi All,
I have elantra 2007 and i have problem when i shift the gear from P to R or from R to D the car kicks once and the RPM will not exceed 2000 RPM this happens when i start the car. It's also happen when driving like 100 KM/hr the car also kicks and i can't exceed 120 KM/hr.
Hint : The gear is Auto

Read about it here.From what I can read about your car. This is a very common problem though no recall at the moment. However what happens is your speed sensors in your Auto are failing and need to be replaced. The car then goes in to 'limp' mode to protect itself. Apparently the sensors are both inexpensive and easy to fix.

You may also want to verify the transmission fluid levels, It may be that it is running low or needs to be changed. I have this car and for some time it would kick when shifting down in gears while in drive, or when shifting from R to D.
Once I filled the transmission fluid to the proper levels, the kicking stop immediately .
