dark side of 40 inch Samsung tv
left side of screen is black but brightens up after a bit and also looks like tracers from the objects showing in tv

Chad Ross post some images of what your screen displays. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. It will allow us to see what you see. If your screen clears up and shows properly after a while then it is most likely a capacitor issue most likely on the power board but possibly on the t-con board as well. Verify that your TV is a Samsung LA40R81BD
