USB device not recognised. Win 7 home premium.

I have an Ipad air LTE. was produced to me as DISABLED as they put the wrong password in too many times. The ipad charges through the port but is not recognised by windows so i can't do much to get into the device. Tried on several machines so it isn't computer related. Have not got another lead to try, but my ipad mini works fine connected to same computers, same lead. Any suggestions?

Sounds like an electronics repair job i *think*. Thoughts?

Have you installed iTunes? Have you tried different cables?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Cheers mate, yes it goes into recovery mode but as soon as it is plugged into the pc the USB message comes up saying it can't recognize the device, so that's where the world ends lol

Hi @smythie17 ,

Try forcing the iPad into the recovery mode and see if this works at all.

1. Turn off the iPad

2. Launch iTunes.

3. Plug the USB cable into the computer.

4. Press and hold the Home button down and plug the other end of the USB cable into the docking port.

Do not release the Home button until you see the picture of iTunes and plug

5. Release the Home button.

6. Hopefully iTunes has detected that the iPad is in the recovery mode.

7. Select Restore iPad

Go into Device Manager

See if you have any devices with error messages

Remove these from Device Manager

then scan for hardware changes.
