Dead iPod- NOT the battery

iPod won't turn on, regardless of whether or not it is plugged into anything. The battery life is still in really good shape and was fully charged at the time it stopped working. Had walked to work with it on, left it in pocket, took off coat, then took out iPod to use in an audio system and it wouldn't turn on. Seems improbable it could randomly die in 5 minutes...

Yes, they can die from one minute to the next :-) Try to reset your iPod

Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. If this doesn’t work, you should try plugging your iPod into a power source and let it charge. Then repeat the steps.

What happens when you plug it into your computer? If this does not work, you may have to take a closer look at it. Let us know how it is going. Good Luck
