line 6 pod x3 live and garageband 11

I have a pod x3 live and i am wondering how well this would work as an audio interface when recording with garageband

11. my concerns are compatability, latency, and the overall sound quality of the recording.

1:does a firewire connection yield superior sound quality?

2: what is the most important component of a home studio that yields the best sounding recording? (other than the musicians). Is it the DAW, interface, or plug-ins?

3: can I get away with recording with GB and my line 6 if I outsource my final mixdowns and mastering to someone with much better equipment and experience?

You can, in fact, use the GarageBand app on your PC instead and use all its features comfortably. Just follow the easy steps on my guide here: http://droidadda.com/garageband-for-pc/

sorry, i should have been more specific. i know my line 6 does not have firewire. it has usb 2.0 ... but i am trying to decide if i should invest in something with firewire (like the apogee duet) or if it is more important to get a better DAW (like Logic Studio). I will definitely look at those forums. Thanks again.
