I replaced a damaged lcd screen

I replaced a bad screen on a emachine 627 laptop. But the new screen dispays terrible. But if you hook up an external monitor both screens become clear and nice. When I un hook the external monitor the new lcd screen I replaced goes back to looking terrible?????

Open up the casing for the screen and see if you have any wires that might be in the wrong area. Look for wiring that is being pinched by the casing or something of that nature. Also look to see if the wiring is next to one of the magnets that holds the screen in place, if so, then move it away from the magnet. Let us know if that helped.
