How can I get the internet to work.

Hi Neil. There are a lot of variables at play here. Let's start from the top.

Your internet is provided by an ISP (internet service provider) like verizon, comcast, att, charter or optimum. You have a modem box that connects the outside world internet to your home. That modem box is then connected to a wireless router which routes the signal from the modem into the airspace so devices with wireless antennas and the appropriate networking hardware can connect to the internet.

First, to make sure your internet is working, here are some items to test:

• Is your modem powered on?
• Is your router powered on?
• Is your modem connected to your wireless router?
• Did you setup a local wireless network through your router?
• Do you have any other wireless devices on the network your working with, that have successfully connected to the internet?

If you have answered all of the questions above with "yes" then your internet most likely works, and your tablet is having trouble connecting.

On your tablet, make sure you are not in airplane mode. You will find airplane mode in quick settings. With airplane mode off, go to "wireless & networks" and select Wi-FI. Make sure the "WI-FI" option says "on." Observe any network names that show up in the wi-fi scans. Do you see a network with the name you setup? If so, connect and enter the password you setup. Entering a password for the first time in your device can be troublesome, so select the "show characters" option when typing so you can see any typing mistakes while entering the password.
