What system did you install, how much RAM do you have, what are the last three letters of your serial number?

Were you using this on the wireless network before the HD / OS upgrade?

Go under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to "about this mac", more info -> Network -> Airport and see if anything is listed. If nothing is there the first thing to do is check its connections, if they are good then replace the card. Here's how:

Go under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to "about this mac", more info -> Network -> Airport and see if anything is listed.

There is no more info option hear and all connections are good but when i go to search for anything on the internet i get the message "the specified server could not be found"

If there's no information on the card, then the computer does not see it. Try reseating it, if it still doesn't see it, then replace it. I see on the answer to machead your are getting good signal strength, please explain what's happening.

If the card shows up in System Profiler it's seated properly, you could have disconnected/damaged the antenna connection. No card listed means check the seat of the card, verify the card.

Remember to return and mark as accepted the answer that best solves your problem.

Good luck,

N

Then it's your wireless network. Is your router listed? Under System Preferences->Network->Advanced->TCPIP what is listed?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

"the specified server could not be found" means your DNS service OR FIREWALL is not working, provided you have a valid IP address (not 169.xxx.x.xxx) What do you have listed in System Preferences->Network-> Advanced->DNS? Your internet provider may have some DNS server numbers for you to use, OR on the Search Domains you could enter google.com, earthlink.net, aol.com
