the screen i cracked on my acer i have tried the fn+f5 button works of a min the changes back how do i fix this problem cant see enough of the screen to fix it

Here is a way how to hook it up "blindly" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3qg9DFIi... and I think what I get from that is to right click on the desktop, press down on the keyboard 6 times, tap right 2 times and hit enter, but you better verify that :-) As you already tried to use Fn+F5 to change outputs, you can also use ctrl-alt-f12 to access the intel manager, there you can set display options.
