Just replaced the battery with a new one from IFIXIT

Hi

I just replaced my battery on my MacBook, with a new one, kit from IFIXIT

Battery works fine, lovely kit to do the replacement.

But now it says that the battery manufacture date is 2012-10-24.......

Thats even older than my original! I just replaced.

Can this date be changed?

I personally don't know if the batteries EEPROM date can be changed. Keep in mind the battery unit is used in quite a few systems. So its possible this battery assembly maybe older than your battery, LiOn batteries do have a long shelf life so I wouldn't be too concerned.

If you purchased this battery, then the manufacture date is likely correct and cannot be changed. These are OEM batteries, made by Apple, around 2012-2013. If you are encountering any isses with the battery you received, we recommend contacting our Support teams directly:
