My address book gets erased or missing certain addresses why?

My address book gets erased,certain addresses are missing I checked up with apple support they suggested to open up the I CLOUD BACKUP.I found only 49 addresses are there nearly 600 are to be backed up.I t is becoming more expensive because rentals are expensive with I CLOUD.Kindly guide me to sort out the issue.Thank you Narayanan Laksmanan INDIA
