Is there a video available that shows how to remove and replace an Nvidia QUADRO 1000M video card in a Lenovo W520 work station??? I believe mine has gone bad. I get screen blinking on and off going black and sometimes blue screen of death and reboot.
The problem is not constant it comes and goes. I've have a second monitor plugged in to see if it affects both monitors when it happens or just the laptop monitor. Hopefully I will be able to draw a conclusion if it is the video or the display when it happens. If it turns out there is no separate video card and the video is on the mother board then I think its time for a new laptop. Thank you for your suggestions. The video driver is up to date.
I was not receiving the message that the "Display Drive has Stopped Responding" Just lots of screen blinking and a occasional blue screen of death and reboot. However, I decided to try your solution here is what I found looking for how to set TDR in Win7 64bit off. I'll let you know if this works. Thanks for your help.
For win 7 64 TDR
command prompt - regedit
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - HARDWARE -DEVICEMAP -VIDEO
find the file type REG_DWORD,
double click, type in new value, 0 turns off TDR my value was 8.
