Split/Mult Screen issues after external storage upgrade.

Recently I added external storage to my device, and I have transferred some files over to the sd card like Facebook and messenger. However when I use the split or multiscreen feature what ever it's called, the apps no longer show up as an icon. I need to go through Google play to get to the app. What can I do to solve this.
