Touchscreen still not working after replacement.

So I bought a gamepad off eBay with the description that the touchscreen did not work. It came and the description was correct, the touchscreen wasn't working but everything else was fine. So I proceeded to buy a new digitizer and LCD from eBay. I replaced the old touchscreen and digitizer and the touch still doesn't work. I have double and triple checked that every single ribbon is in the correct spot. Could it be that something is wrong with the motherboard at the point where the ribbons from the digitizer connect?
