Third generation of iPad, featuring 4G capabilities, released on March 16, 2012. Model number A1430. Repairs require heat and careful prying.

Change to lightning port?

I have a 3rd generation ipad (Wifi + Cellular). I would like to know if it's possible to tear it down and install the components into a iPad 4 case and modify my components for the lightning connector?

Thanks

Matt

No, the flex for these two connector types are different and would not work properly from one logic board to another. While they look similar, minus the different form factor for the actual dock, they are completely different electrically.
