bob ferguson yes you can. Check this video to see how to do it. Once you have it replaced You will have a known-good start point if you need to troubleshoot your blackberry further. If a new battery does not work , you will have to take a deep dive onto the circuitry etc.

The battery can be replaced but it is a big big big pain. The phone is glued together. When mine failed I opened the back cover and decided to send it off for replacement. I wouldn't think the battery would keep it from turning on though.
