Why isnt tempture gauge working

2000 Mercury Sable 3.0L 24V

Normally after warming my car the tempture gauge will show half way meaning the car is warm, ive vhecked my fuses and they r all fine so i hoping u guy can help me figure out why this is happening and what i need to do to stop it ....

@churchdaddy32 you need to check your ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor. It is located on the left hand side (driver side) on your coolant line. Same as a Ford Taurus since they share the same engine.
