Why is brush vibrating at different rate

Our electric toothbrush is working, but my husband seems to think it is vibrating at a different rate, I.e. faster and less strong. Have you come across this before and can it be repaired?

@mcarey this will be difficult since it is based on subjective data. There is really no reason how this could happen. the motor is a direct drive so there is no gearing etc. It either works or does not. Now it is of course possible that the motor is failing, but that would most likely make it run slower. At this time I would suggest you wait and see what happens.
