Fourth generation iPhone. Repair is straightforward, but the front glass and LCD must be replaced as a unit. GSM / 8, 16, or 32 GB capacity / Model A1332 / Black and White. This page aims to help users troubleshoot, fix, and seek help for the iPhone 4.

iPhone wont turn on after reassembley

Hello ,

Following were the problems noted on my iphone 4 GSM

1) Cracked screen.

2) The opposite person cant listen to my voice.Probably the mic gone bad.

3) Vibrator malfucntion

I ordered a new screen and replaced it on the iPhone. But the iPhone wont turn on. I even tried the dfu mode using iTunes but the iPhone doesn't even get recognized nor gets charged.

I opened it up again and noticed that below the wifi antenna covering the board where the multiple ribbons get attached , a small piece is broken. im attaching the image of the broken piece which goes at the very top. The piece that is broken is the circular one.

I think i would be better to attach a picture of the board, where the part broke off.

Hello Alex. Its right on the top in the center. I just evaluated the phone with a repair guy and he told me the motherboard needs to be replaced with a Cost of 74 $. That's quite a lot for me. I need to get a workaround with my old motherboard only.

Hello Alex , have added an image. Kindly have a look.

Alright. So we're not going to deal with the other problems now. Let's just get the phone going to start. With these older models, you can plug it in, without the battery being in the circuit, and it should light up and show boot logo. Shouldn't boot up. But at least get some activity

Hi. I removed the battery and plugged it in. Still I see no activity whatsoever.

What should be done now? dude you should buy a new phone... repairing your phone will probably cost you more than the phone itself

The extent of the issues here makes a repair pretty much useless. You'll probably want to get a new phone.

True Matt. I'm looking at only making the phone start with display. That's all. That what iMedic is trying too who's commented above.
