How long have you kept it on charge? In some cases some batteries are dead flat and take a long time to even just show the charging logo on screen.

Thanks for the insight. I went ahead and ordered a SONY charger/cable. The battery is a new SONY replacement battery just installed by a tech. The tech advised that sometimes using some other cable results in not charging correctly. Since I was using some other cable the battery LED indicator never changed from red. In my attempt to reboot the tablet the LED blinked 3 times. I thought there was some trick to rebooting the tablet after installing a new battery. I'll charge the tablet using the OEM and hope to get the green light.
