Keyboard unresponsive after battery replacement

After replacing battery and booting my laptop, my login screen comes up, but most of my keyboard became unresonsive. There are some keys working, but not all. Trackpad works, keyboard backlight works, but the rest of the keyboard is unresponsive. Please help!

Have you has a liquid spill on the machine?

No liquid spill. All I did was follow the guide to replace battery, which I did, and now the keyboard is nonresponsive. Could it be a software issue or hardware? would the I/O logic board cable have anything to do with keyboard? Thanks for your help.
