How to discharge a CRT without killing myself?

So I have seen other threads on how to do this, but I need a very detailed guide. I have never discharged any CRT before. How do I do this? What tools will I need? Should I wear any special gear/tools?

Here's a youtube video of a guy doing it. It looks to me like his first time:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hfook04k...

I'm also not sure if the guy in the video has the frame grounded out. He may have just transferred the charge.

It probably won't kill you. But it will really get your attention when you pick your tail up off the floor. Experience is a cruel teacher.

@mactechplus can confirm this one. We later got a discharging tool that looked like a knitting needle with a handle on it and a wire with an alligator clip to discharge these with.

FYI here's how to discharge capacitors on a logic board: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-AIbrbT...
