Why can't I print pdf that has been tiled using Adobe Reader DC?

I have a pdf that was created for large format printing (36", continuous roll). My printer only prints 24" documents. I have used Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to tile the pdf to print at 100% scale. (Print: Poster: Tile; Page setup: Epson Stylus Pro, Paper US Size D, continuous roll ) The print dialogue shows the document tiled into several sections. I have the latest printer driver for Epson Stylus Pro 7800.

But printer only prints one tile, not the whole document. If I set the printer to print several pages per sheet, it shrinks the image.

What is wrong?

Make sure you update to the latest printer driver. Printer manufacturers offer updated drivers to improve compatibility with newer software, such as newer versions of Adobe Reader DC.

If you have a different printer connected to your computer, try printing the file to the other printer. Sometimes a different printer can successfully print a PDF that doesn't print on another printer.

Software-related solutions

Restart your computer Restart your computer, then open the file again. It is surprising how often simply restarting your computer solves a problem.

Otherwise you can just try an Adobe Reader DC alternative, such as SwifDoo PDF.
