Screen replacement with other generation

Hi, I have x1 carbon gen1 touch screen model. During travel, my left side hinge broke, which in-turn damaged my screen. Now i want to replace the whole screen but not getting the replacement unit. My question is, can i use any other generations display unit with my 1st generation ?
