How to make the hash tag visible

I have tried several master keys to enter my bios, the display goes blank after 3wrong entries. How do I get the hash tag to generate the right key?

It's called a pound sign. Or a number sign. A hash tag is a tag on a bag of shredded potatoes. Don't know why they call it that...

Also not sure what you need. As the pound sign is irreverent to entering the bios. Normally a function key. If thats the case, try holding down the fn key first

Hi @calmes ,

To enter the BIOS menu press the F2 key after the POST finishes and before Windows starts. If you miss the chance to do this, turn off the laptop by holding the Power button until it shuts down and then try again

If this doesn't work and you are running Win 8.1 or 10, turn OFF the Fast Startup option in Win 8.1 or 10. Here is a link that describes how to turn it off. (Step 7 in the guide)

Once it has been turned off, shutdown the laptop in the normal way. Do NOT select restart. Turn it off and when it has completely shutdown, then start it again and try the F2 key to enter BIOS.
