The brush roll will not turn on at all anymore. There seems to be no power getting to it. If I take the stick part off and attach it directly to the canister, it works. Do I need to buy a new stick? Where can I get one?

Hi,
It may be that the brush roll drive belt is broken.
Here is a link to the ifixit guide to repair / replace the brush roll. The belt is shown clearly in Step 8 of the guide.
If it is broken then here is a link to suppliers of the part.

You probably won't need a replacement part. I would start by checking the connections on the female side of the wand. I believe you will find that one more of the connections will have foriegn matter covering the contact points causing the problem. Please make sure your vacuum is unplugged from the power source before you clean the connections. Your welcome!

This was exactly my issue- I had to use a needle to clear out the gunk (after unplugging of course!) and after a few minutes I could see a clean connection again. Worked like a charm. Thanks!
Thank you so so much! You absolutely fixed it - I got a flash light and looked at the female connections on the wand and one was completely plugged. We often use the wand only to pick up pet hair in nooks and crannies - now I know to also clean out the connection. So happy it works again - Thank you !
Love Shark Sweepers! My Shark Rocket Duo has never let me down! Today, I went to use it and the green suction light turned on, the roller brushes would not turn. I looked up your site and examined the female connections under a bright light and saw one to be clogged. I took a needle and moved it around to loosen the debris, put it back together and it runs great! Thanks so much! I took a picture, but, do not see a way to load it to help others with the same problem!

you have a loose wire in the extension handle part.
uplug the vacuum.
open up the handle and repair the torn / broken wire.
be sure to cover with electrical tape.

Thanks for the answer except it is hard to know where on the handle it should be opened up. Pictures would be nice, but if not at least a good description of exactly where to open up. Thanks!

Carrie, did you try The Underestimated answer? I had the exact same problem as you, and when I checked the female connection on the wand it was badly clogged. Cleaned out, and my now works. Good luck.

The Underestimated seems to be right in my case, although, the female connection (on the motor part of mine, rather than the stick) that is the problem, is not cluttered with debris. Rather, it seems to be missing the connection piece altogether. The hole is just empty. Ugh…what to do now…
