Ear Speaker not working

I have fixed 3 iPhone 7 plus screens and every time I do this the ear ear Speaker stops working, the camera and sensors still work just the ear Speaker. I have also done repairs on 7's and it works there is no problem? Does anyone know what this could be? I'm being very gentle when I do this I'm not sure what's wrong

Are you getting display assemblies without the ear speaker already installed, or are you getting one's you have to swap speaker, camera, ect?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Figured it out.. make sure to heat up before moving front cam and proximity sensor there is a black adhesive that needs to stay on its covers some little gold connectors those need to stay covered so keep it on or put a new black adhesive

Tried that, and it still doesn't work.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Did this and it still doesn't work also I tried putting proximity sensor cable back in original screen and i still can't hear people who call me

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Try again took us 3x flexes this last time my suggestion is remove the old flex with the gasket and ear speaker mesh together there's no need to remove it completely this mitigates risk I do it on every model to avoid damaging the mic or in this as well , good luck

I've found the solution ! If a new from camera and earspeaker does not solve the issue remove the front camera and turn it over , you will then see a series of gold pins. On the old screen there should be a black adhesive square that should cover those gold pins, if it is still on the old screen simply place it back on to the camera, if you damage the adhesive , cover it with a piece of tape and color it with black sharpie and that'll do the trick. Tape and a sharpie also works to fix the proximity sensor that doesn't shut off when put up to your ear. You would just put a small piece of tape where the sensor goes and color it black. Works like a charm! Good luck everyone hope this answers and solves your troubles.

Any chance someone could post a picture?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I’ve got a picture of the black pad that needed to be transferred, but don’t know how to upload it. Can someone clue me in; so others can see what Edwin was talking about? We transferred it from the old cable to the new, but it had no effect to get my iphone7 earphone or front comparatively working. :(

When I have had this problem, i take it apart and put it back together until it works. Also, if I don't get it right the first time I use a small digital endoscope to make sure everything lines up. This way hasn't failed me yet. Hopefully it won't fail you.

Here’s my pictures of the black insulating pad that might need to be transferred referenced in

Edwin Lopez’s post two posts ago. I put the old cable with the black insulating pad over where the screen was missing the insulating pad. The yellow line shows where the pad needed to be moved to. Hope this clarifies things for folks.

Earpiece does not work after screen replacement

Reasons for the iPhone 7 Plus earpiece problem probably are below:

The first one may be that your iPhone 7 Plus went wrong on operation system or software glitches and so on. This is definitely the easiest one to fix. All you need to do is restarting your phone. That might work on some devices.

The second one may be the hardware problems. It could be a little complicated. You need to open up your iPhone 7 Plus and examine the earpiece flex cable. After opening up, check if there has any visible shifting or damages on the tape, the connector and the flex cable. The solution for this situation is to reseating or replacing them. Here is the guidance for you.

Remove the two bottom pentalope screws, and suction the glass up.

Unscrew the Phillips screws from the earpiece speaker & front-facing camera bracket.

Take off the earpiece speaker & front-facing camera bracket from the front panel.

Lift the front-facing camera in the front panel.

Holding the front-facing camera, take out the earpiece speaker from the front panel.

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

The solution to this is very simple.

You just have to heat the part extremely well (not to hot not to cold) and besides that, you need to pick the little black piece of tape AND the front cam flex in 1 go!

If you try to separate them the chance is 75% you will damage the front cam flex and also have to replace this one.

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

When looking at the back of the screen where the front camera is on the back of the display, the bottom left section of the camera flex is stuck down, you need to be super carefull removing this part, if you have trouble getting your tweezers under this use a little heat, scratching the underside of this flex will easily damage the part.

I used to have the same issue before it was just only for iphone 7 plus.

it cause original front camera flex cable was torn or damaged easily.

you can change another flex front camera flex cable.

when you transfer fully heat around it then from the underneath bottom right to the left.

you need to whole things out

I had a same issue with 7 plus. Really gently take off the flex, heated well or not, black square tape never went in 1 piece with flex, so i take it out later and stick it back to the flex -> no ear speak. After the total mad and about 30h of assembling and disassembling i realized i have been putting the black tape directly to the gold pins under the curved flex. BUT the flex is curved and the black tape should cover the pins and the part of the curved flex as well. I do not know how is this even possible, but this worked for me with 2 x 7 plus, now its worked fine.

I just ran into this problem today, so the day before I did a screen replacement on a iPhone 7 Plus. Next day customer comes back saying ear piece not working. I opened it up and reorganized the cable and ear piece I made sure it did have the black tape over the gold pins. I made sure the gold pins on the ear piece were touching the gold dots on the cable. So tried to see if that fixed the problem and nothing. So I unlocked the phone and made a call and the ear piece magically started to work. I was so confused I know this isn’t really a solution but it was odd how to started to work once I unlocked the phone. Any thoughts?
