Will not turn on after attempting to change backlight fuse

Hello,

First, my screen was black with a flashlight showing the computer was on. I determined the back light fuse was blown. When I tried to desolder it, I shorted to nearby component. The motherboard was not unplugged from battery.

Now, absolutely nothing happens when I press the power button. Can anyone you please point me to where the problem is likely to be now?

Thanks

Uh, Charles...there's usually a _reason_ fuses blow. Their purpose is to save power supplies and upstream components. Therefore, there was probably a short circuit downstream from the fuse to begin with. Failing to remove power from the unit before applying a soldering tool was a _major_ malfunction! At this point, the problem could be a blown component / circuit trace anywhere in the system! Good luck...
