Where is the sensor that detects the camera orientation?

My SX280 cant decide which way up it is and I suspect its the gyro or mems sensor that is at fault. Though I dont know its location within the camera, any ideas folks?

On the SX200IS it's on the left of the lens, facing the front of the camera. See Disassembling Canon PowerShot SX200 IS Step 6. Many of these cameras are similar in construction.
