Coconut Battery says Battery Failure Yes (83) with new battery

I am getting a battery failure #83 with a new battery in coconut, otherwise it's working.

Is the new battery defect and should be changed?

Thanks, that's kind!

Chris never responded, sorry. But I also got in a new battery this week with this same failure. The battery only had 53% of the maximum capacity, weighed about half of what a normal one did. I got my money back and the supplier didn't even want it back.

ok, no problem, just did it myself as i was thinking of returning the battery. yours sounds like a rip off. mine was not the cheapest on the market but also not the most expensive, and i am quite satisfied with it. would have returned it back also if it would have been like yours.

Thats definitely an aftermarket battery. That means ur battery has 83% of life left with only one load cycle. Usually u should have over 200 cycles on a OEM battery. I would try to get my money back or trade it for a new one

Can you back that statement up?

@sherlock_holmes sorry, your answers are partially complete nonsense. i want to point out one of your first answers: "Thats definitely an aftermarket battery. 16.03.2017 von Lord Vader's Finest Rocketeers " error code 83 has nothing to do with life left. you were mixing up % with codes and so on. please think twice and write nothing before nonsense. nethertheless thanks for your well-mentioned help.

What is the designed capacity have? And why was the answers and comments sent to just comments?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Is the bottom picture of the old battery?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Because there is an error code for that as well. Sorry btw. That was my bad. I don't know what I was thinking
