Recently replaced my dock port assembly due to a speaker issue. Since then I've been told by callers that they hear an intermittent buzzing sound. I've re-opened the phone to make sure the gold metal prong near the mic is touching the chrome bezel and it is. What else could it be? Did I receive a bad dock port assembly? Help!

I have seen this problem before and it was caused by a bad mic and or connection on the dock. Try cleaning that connection with some isopropyl alcohol or replacing the mic only if you are confident in your soldering skills. Or try replacing the entire dock (again). Sounds like you are getting weird feed back from the mic. Good luck!

Well...IT WORKED!!!! I cleaned everything and made sure the gold prong was touching the bezel and put it all back together...works GREAT!!!! :-) Thanks again!

Umm does it work if I just clean the outer part of the speaker? My phone fell when I went in into a haunted house a few days ago and that is how the buzzing sound started what should I do I'm scared that if I repair it myself I will break my phone.. Any solutions?
