Screwed up during desoldering?

I'm totally new to soldering and I thought I could give it a try replacing the micro clicker for my G602 Logitech mouse.

I had a very hard time desoldering the old micro clicker out and I kinda messed up.

(I don't really know what a copper pad is), but I think I damaged one while desoldering. Located on the top right of the photo. I'm not sure if I damaged the others as well.

1 removed both micro-clickers. Compared to the one below, the one on top looks blackish and burnt. I'm afraid i burnt the top PCB by putting the tip of the solder iron too long?

I'm just wondering if there's any way to salvage this PCB ? I'm not putting my hopes high in fixing this mess but I thought perhaps someone could help/guide me. Thanks

What method of desoldering are you using copper wick or suction? So far it looks fine your on the backside the connections are on the front and your only removing the anchors you have three to go . Clean the area with electronic flux (resin)which is different than the flux used by plumbers(to corrosive for circuitry) then solder in your new switch. Make sure you use electric solder specific to circuit work not plumber solder. Common mistake amoungst first timers. Keep going you only succeed by trying. Hope this helps

I'm using a copper suction; but seemed alittle difficult clearing up the holes. Might try again when I'm free. Would a copper wick be better ?

So far, I'm just a little worried about this.

joscmh90 like @jimfixer mentioned, so far it does not look bad. It looks to me like you are having issues with the desoldering by either not using, or not using enough, flux. Also, those little vacuum gadgets are not the greatest tool. Get used to using heat, place lots of flux on the solder pad and I use plenty of flux on the desoldering braid as well.

Right now from what I can see, it should work once you properly solder the switch in place.

the dark area is blacken from lack of flux the flux keeps your work clean . I prefer to use braid . it works fast and does a good job of cleanup. the area your concerned with is not damaged its just need to be cleaned

@jimfixer @oldturkey03 Another thing I failed to mentioned is that from the area that I'm concerned, while desoldering there's also this square dark green border surrounding the copper pad which got detached. Would the blacken area be due to excess heat? I could have placed the soldering tip there a little too long. I think I even tried placing the tip into the hole to get rid of the solder inside (which I failed).

I have this with me, is this flux ?

I'm still trying to figure out how to use flux. Do i just apply the paste all over the area I want to desolder and heat it using the soldering iron ?

joscmh90"placing the tip into the hole to get rid of the solder" that is whty you need desoldering wick and flux. It will prevent those things from happening. Yes, that is flux. Not sure about your "square dark green border" we would have to see this to judge it.

it seems your 1st pin on your right switch pcb in trouble....try to clean it first and repost the picture, maybe it still any path rest so you can solder it again to the rest....or you can try to 'break' the pcb (really careful and DWYOR), and you can find the path then you can try to jumper it via jumper wire....goodluck
