Why is my screen not turning on?
I downloaded a new computer installation and now when i turn my laptop on, the screen stays black.

Restar the computer and hit the ((F8)) in your keyboard when the computer boot-up. Then when the menu screen appears choose Service mode with the up and down arrows and hit Enter and wait for the system to finish boot-up. When the system finish search and uninstall the program causing the problem and restar your computer. But if this not working make a test connecting a external monitor if this work maybe your laptop graphics card is bad or your screen is dead and you need computer service.

Misty Nakayama what do you mean by that "downloaded a new computer installation"? It worked before you downloaded this?
