hammering sound eminating from right side of printer

when printer head moves to right (facing the printer) side in preparation to print a page a loud hammering sound is heard. If several pages are to be printed only the prior to the first page the hammering sound is heard. But when the printer rests for a short period of time the hammering is heard at next print request.

The hammering sound is obviously because of slipping of gears or cause of some obstruction.

I experienced such thing once, I inverted the printer in the air by holding down and shook it for a while as, I suspected some obstruction and I was right, luckily some board pins fell off. May work or not for you the gear assembly or the belt should be checked in your case.
