The Fujifilm XP20 is supposed to withstand most impact forces from a height from around 5 ft. However, if the camera was dropped into a dirty area, the buttons may have gotten filled with dirt or dust. If this is the case, then you may need to clean out the buttons using a compressed air can, or a small brush. Water, or rubbing alcohol could work on this camera was well, since it is waterproof. If this solution does not work, then there may be a problem with circuit or motherboard of the camera. This could be self-replaced with time and knowledge of the camera, or by taking it to the nearest tech store. For more information on troubleshooting, please view our Troubleshoot page.
