removing battery on a battery start mower

My battery powered starter has not worked for several years. I'd like to remove the battery and cables to make the mower lighter to use. Will removing the battery still allow the mower to run?

@shelbysowner , Pete try this first, unplug all the wires from battery to mower, if it starts then you Know there is no wire or safety switching that will prevent mower from starting, so battery and box will be able to be removed. I do believe the key switch may have to stay. Good luck.

If your battery is 12VDC, remove just the battery out or simply disconnect from the battery.

Then use your car jumper cables and jump from car to ground (Black Cable) of mower & positive (Red Cable) to red wire on mower.

Yes, you can remove the battery & wires out, provided you have the Cable String Puller to start the engine.
