Why does my PSP Go have no bars while charging?

I have a PSP Go and it was working before i had this problem. When the battery drains and i Plug-in the charger, it only shows green light and its not charging. When I turn-on the PSP Go the battery meter has no bars but the PSP Go is still working any idea's?
