SIM Tray will not go in all the way

There isn't a whole lot to the sim card assembly. Make sure the sim card is seated right, there is a notch to make lining it up easier and make sure you are putting the tray in the correct way.
The only thing that I can think of that could get damaged is the SIM eject lever inside the phone but I have no idea how that could get damaged, short of jamming a paperclip like 2 inches into the phone.

I am trying to put the tray in with no sim card.

Has anyone got any further input or answers about how to fix the sim tray ejector if it is damaged or faulty? I have never seen this problem until recently I was given two Samsung S8’s with similar issues. One of them the sim tray gets close to going all the way down, but the other stops half way. It’s quite difficult to get a good look inside the sim tray but close enough inspection doesn’t reveal any broken pieces left behind or anything like that so how does one go about fixing or getting around the faulty or damaged ejector mechanism?
I have had Motorola razo for 2 months never activated because I had to order new plastic sim tray ! Finally got it and sim tray will not go in ! My friend had one the SIM card got stuck in and it was preventing tray to go in ! I’m tired of spending my money brand new looks like they would offer a new phone
