Power button and volume bottom malfunction

Whenever I push the button to turn off my phone nothing happens? My speaker volume is also constantly turning up on its own. Do I need to replace the buttons or is this an electrical issue which I need to send my phone in to fix?

If the volume is going up or down press the buttons to see if they are actually clicking. If the button snaps back in to place great job you fixed it! If not the button is probably jammed. Don't panic just send it in to Verizon so they can replace the button. Same goes for the power button, but it should be an easy fix.
