When turning my laptop on it doesn't power up, screen remains black and the laptop beeps twice. Help guides suggest it's a memory issue, I've removed and reseasted drives but no joy, any help greatly appreciated.

Sounds like an issue ive had, Did you try to take out a Ram card and or Replacing the ram card?
Heat, dust, corrosion eventually makes ram fail which leads to the system failing to boot.
As you said "nothing on screen" id give that a shot. if there is only a single ram, take it out and boot it should make the system make a *change* then re insert the ram and attempt to boot. If that doesn't work try taking out the Bios Battery + Ram and hold the power button for 20 seconds, It will reset the CMOS. Install the ram again and re insert the Bios battery and attempt to boot.
The Bios Battery is a Small but Large "button Cell" style battery located on the motherboard and is usually found near the Hard Disk Drive.

another thing is if there are 2 ram cards try booting with only one and if that fails try to boot with the other ram card, sometimes a single ram can fail and computers don't like the fact that 1 ram isn't working.

What step worked?
I'm having this issue with my desktops. I attempted to go from a smaller to a bigger tower but it wasn't working. When I brought the hard drive back to the small tower it started doing the same thing there too. Idk if it's the hard drive or what but I'm writing this in an attempt to sway the frustration of not being able to get 4 towers up and running. Wish me luck.
