Find instructions on self-replacing the entire top assembly

Finding this thread was a bit comical, because I didn't imagine the issue was a manufacturing error. But then again, when my model worked great for a year and a half, then suddenly today (apparently not out-of the blue) unhinged on the left side, snapping plastic casing and cracking the screen, it seemed very bizarre. Did anyone find instructions on self-replacing the entire top assembly+bezel? I know there are after-market assemblies available as replacements.

Even if it only gives the laptop life for another 6 months, I want to give it a try...
