The latest phone in the HTC One line, simply called the HTC 10, released in 2016.

Display replacement / fingerprint sensor

Hey I replaced the display, but the new display didn't come with a new fingerprint sensor so I transferred the old one and it doesn't seem to detect it. Has anyone had success transferring the fingerprint sensor?

The fingerprint scanner is part of the home button itself. A lot of people had success replacing this part. I have seen a few iphones (5s) which had screen replaced but the fingerprint scanner was still working.

this is an htc 10 not an iphone 5s, they are very different.

I have a theory, fingerprint sensor will only work with a genuine display part.

Thats likely the answer, currently using an on screen home button to compensate, no parts suppliers seem to offer a home button or display assembly that includes a home button.

It's confirmed, I've got another display part, this time directly from HTC, transferred old fingerprint scanner, all works fine.

Hey can I ask how you got the replacement display from HTC? Will they sell directly

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I've got it from supplier who's known for getting parts directly from HTC stock in the UK

Could you please link to the shop? I need to replace the screen of my HTC 10 and would like to know it's a genuine display replacement. Otherwise I would need to find out via trial and error if it's genuine - which is quite the effort considering the low repairability of the 10 :/
