Hi,

I´m glade that my "experience" could help you. It´s really a shame MS quality control.

Hey the same is happening to me too, it's past the warranty and I can't return it so which type of fan should I use in replacing it

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Austin, search for a PWM fan. I used a Corsair one, working better than The original.

There several youtube guides to change The fan, its easy enough to do at home, just take care and not hurry things.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Is there a illustration to show one how to perform this fan replacement? , iIfound a Cougar Vortex PWM 800-1500RPM fan

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I don´t any illustration, but is working fine to me.

Hi Yan,

It´s really simple to change the bearing, you can remove the fan without have to remove the heatsink. The fan is almost the same, but it dont fit well, because the height of the one s. I suggest you change the fan to a custom one, like corsair or another pc fan, it´s really simple, look for guides in Youtube, i got better results changing the fan instead of the bearings.

Hope it could help you.

I saw on youtube peoples saying that after changing the fan with an custom one they have problems with overheating. Is that true?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I don´t have any problem. It´s important that the fan is a PWM, so it can change the speed of the fan when is necessary.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

And when you are gaming you are sure that your fan increases speed? And your custom fan is focused for air flow or static pressure?

Thanks!

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I hear it´s getting faster (and louder), so yes.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Thanks for the info! Where did you get the replacement bearings, are they a particular type?

Has anything fallen into the fan? Anything unusual happen to the unit? (Like getting knocked over, hit, etc.) At this point, I would recommend sending it in on warranty. Since it was only just released, you should be able to get it fixed for free under warranty, and you won't risk damaging it more opening it up.

Hi Ben Eccles,

I kind of fixed the fan noise. Last night I open the entire console and removed the fan, I discovered that the sound was coming from 2 crap bearing´s inside the fan, changed them and said goodbye for the noise, at least until now.

Tks for the help.

P.S: Sorry about my poor english, I´m from Brasil and I´m a little rusty.

Hi ricardo

I got the same problem, is it easy to change the bearing? (can i dissemble the fan without removing all the heatsink?)

I was thinking to change the fan myself but i don't know if the Xbox One fan is compatible with the One S fan.

Thx

Thx for your help, i have changed the fan, i've used a PWM 120 mm fan.

Now the Xbox is quiet, the hard drive is louder than the fan :)

It's a shame for Microsoft quality control, a lot of people got this problem (and some are thinking the buzzing noise is normal)

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

No overheating for me with an Akasa AK-FN064 fan

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

And when you are gaming the fan is increasing the speed?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

and how did you solve with the conector? what are the pins for controling fan speed?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

For me it was a little trick, but tested the cable until discover. If you dont set the cable in the right way, it will be set in full speed all the time, even if its on sleep mode.
