Power will not turn on.

I am trying to turn the power back onto my G4 (model 8570. I have unpluged the power cord and reconnected it. I have opened the case and pushed the reset button. Neither of these have helped. When I push the power button on the monitor, it will glow for a second and then goes out.There is no sound from the tower and it does not start up.

The G4

power button is on the front of the case, the monitor power has no connection to it.

The monitor behaves as it does because it detects no video signal and so shuts itself down.
