Replacing the trackpad and haptic motor?

After being rained on, my trackpad is no longer fully functional. It can tap to touch, move, and do gestures, but no clicks. I recently took my Macbook to my campus IT and they quoted that it would cost $700 to fix my trackpad since they have the battery glued and the topbody would have to be replaced. Is there anyway to avoid this, even though it may take more effort and creative ways to do so?

According to Apple, there is no way around it. However if you are willing to risk puncturing the battery and possibly causing a fire, you can choose to pry the battery off carefully.

Part supply is another issue, try your luck.
